In business and politics, should one fight fire with fire?
When drastic times require drastic measures, then “yes”. The traditional way to fight fire is with dirt, water and chemical solution. But when all else fails, a counter-fire is necessary. Whether this may work in politics is a question but my gut feeling tells that it will only work if you have a bigger gun.
So does Mexico have an advantage in trade over US? Probably not, but US President Trump is not the solo player in global trade. Trade requires good relationships and damaging relationships is not a good foot to put forward.
I just hope that all of this commotion has just been bluffing.
